Today the News-Press had a story (link below) about the US Census Bureau report outlining the Fastest Growing areas in the USA.
#6 Lee County: including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs
#10 Collier County: including Naples, Marco Island, Orangetree
I am seeing evidence of this trend every day as I take calls from folks like you wanting to buy homes and condos in Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Estero, Cape Coral and Fort Myers. I know that many people had to delay their plans to retire, and defer their dream of buying a place in Florida because of the economic recession and housing market crash.
The delay is over, the demand for housing is growing, and the dream of owning a place in Florida is becoming reality for many Baby-boomers. As a result, prices are on the rise. And certain segments of the market have experienced significant increases.
Call me today at 239-860-4370 and I'll help you find your place in paradise.?

Here is an excerpt from the story:
"...In much of the 1990s and early 2000s, Lee and Collier counties occupied regular positions on lists of the fastest-growing areas in the United States before the Great Recession sent foreclosure and unemployment rates soaring. The nationwide collapse of the housing market also slowed the traditional migration of retirees to Southwest Florida.
"Now that we've got more of a normal economic environment, they're executing what they've put off for a while," said Mike Bosi, Collier County's director of planning and zoning. "We had a tremendous amount of pent-up demand during that recessionary period and we're seeing the results of that pressure being relieved..."
